This table shows the percentage of positions that were
resolved by building only a few slices of the 10-piece Italian
checkers database. These statistics are taken after
compression. Since compression removes capture positions and
threatened captures by the side not having the turn to move,
the percentage of resolved positions is higher in the uncompressed
data.
- Exactly resolved: these positions were resolved
to an exact value of either win, draw, or loss.
- Partially resolved: these positions were resolved
to values of either 'win or draw', or 'draw or loss'. When
kingsrow encounters one of these positions in a search, it
calculates a heuristic value for the position and then uses
the database value to limit it to either 'at least a draw'
or 'at most a draw'.
- Unknown: these positions could not be
resolved because they depend on uncomputed 10-piece
positions with more kings.
