Obtaining the 10-piece WLD and MTC databases for English checkers

The 10-piece win, loss, draw and conversion databases are available for purchase from me (Ed Gilbert) on an external USB hard drive.

The drive contains setup programs to install the WLD (win/loss/draw) and MTC (moves to conversion) databases for positions with 2 through 10 pieces and up to 5 pieces on a side. These databases presently work with the Kingsrow checkers program. If you are a programmer and are interested in using the databases with another program, there is a software driver available which makes it relatively easy to do this.

Purchase Information

The price for the USB hard drive containing the databases is $150 plus shipping. I can accept payment with a credit card or PayPal.

Shipping to locations within the USA is via US Postal Service Priority mail. The shipping cost is $6. The total cost including shipping for domestic purchasers is $156. Shipping time is typically 2 or 3 days.
For international shipping there are 2 options -- First Class, or Priority. In addition to the shipping cost you may have to pay an import fee when you receive the package from your local postal service.
- US Postal Service First Class international shipping is $17. Your total cost including First Class international shipping is $167. Shipping time is typically 7 to 12 business days, plus time to move through your country's customs. The main disadvantage of First Class shipping is that the package cannot be tracked.
- US Postal Service Priority international shipping is $36. Your total cost including Priority international shipping is $186. Shipping time is typically 6 to 10 business days, plus the time to move through your country's customs. Priority shipping provides a tracking number.

To purchase the 10-piece databases, use the Shipping Selection dropdown box below to select one of the 3 shipping options, then click the Buy Now button. This will take you to a PayPal website where you can enter either your credit card or PayPal account info to complete the transaction. When I receive your payment I will confirm receiving it with an email and advise you when I plan to ship your order. I will send you another email with the shipping details after it is shipped.

Requirements

To use these databases your PC must meet some minimum requirements for disk space and RAM. The setup program allows either a small or a full installation. The full installation installs all the files. The small installation installs everything except the files for 10-piece positions that have 3 or more kings on a side.

A small installation requires 76GB of free disk space for the WLD db and 11GB for the MTC db. It requires a minimum of 1GB of RAM.
A full installation requires 214GB of free disk space for the WLD db and 47GB for the MTC db. It requires a minimum of 1.5GB of RAM.
Your PC must be running Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000.
